Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy is an analytical technique used to identify functional groups in a molecule. With the use of built-in libraries, it enables the identification of organic materials and inorganic parts.
FTIR is suitable for testing liquids, solids and gases. This test is based on the absorption of infrared light by specific functional groups.
Application:
In the laboratory, we mainly use FTIR with the ATR attachment for material identification. This technique is also perfect for the identification of polymers, forensic traces, and the identification of sediments. In addition to ATR, we have gas cuvettes, transmission cuvettes and a TGA-IR interface.
